The Northern Ireland Executive First Minister, the Rt Hon Arlene Foster MLA, and the deputy First Minister, Michelle O’Neill MLA, will host the 35th British-Irish Council Summit meeting this week. It will be the third time the BIC Summit has been hosted by the Northern Ireland Executive. The meeting will be attended by leaders and ministers from the Council’s 8 Member Administrations.

The main discussion topic at the summit will be Recovery from Covid-19.

The British-Irish Council Misuse of Substances work sector will hold a Ministerial meeting this week, which will be hosted by the Government of Ireland. The meeting will be chaired by Frank Feighan, T.D. Minister of State for Public Health, Well Being and National Drugs Strategy and held via a virtual platform, due to the current Covid-19 public health requirements across Member Administrations.

The British-Irish Council Digital Inclusion work sector held its second Ministerial meeting today, chaired by Minister for Policy and Reform, Hon Ray Harmer MHK, of the Isle of Man Government. The meeting was held virtually, due to the current Covid-19 public health requirements across Member Administrations.
