Secretariat

The standing Secretariat for the British-Irish Council is provided by officials from the member administrations. It is staffed full-time, from a permanent base in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Secretariat works in co-ordination with senior officials of each of the BIC member administrations in supporting the work of the Council.

The British-Irish Council Secretariat is led by Eddie Brannigan, the Irish Government Joint-Head and William Sinclair, who is the UK Government Joint-Head.
