The Secretariat for the British-Irish Council is provided by officials from the member administrations. It is staffed full-time, from a permanent base in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Secretariat works in co-ordination with senior officials of each of the BIC member administrations.
The British-Irish Council Secretariat is managed by Tereasa Bell, who is the UK Government Joint-Head; and Jerry O’Donovan, the Irish Government Joint-Head.
