British-Irish Council Ministers met at Vogrie Country Park in Midlothian, Scotland for the twelfth ministerial meeting on the Environment with a focus on Biodiversity. Before the meeting, Ministers joined children from Tynewater Primary School to take part in a BioBlitz. – an exercise to collect data on biodiversity within the Park.

Deputy Anne Pryke, Jersey’s Minister for Health and Social Services, today hosted the eighth Ministerial meeting of the British-Irish Council on the Misuse of Drugs in St Helier, Jersey. The meeting was chaired by Ms Róisín Shortall T.D., Minister of State with responsibility for Primary Care in Ireland. 
 
The key thematic discussion at the meeting focused on Young People and Drugs and Ministers also agreed that the Council should take forward co-operation on the use and misuse of alcohol.

The Summit brought together representative from the UK and Irish Governments, the devolved administrations of the Scottish and Welsh Governments and Northern Ireland Executive, the Government of the Isle of Man and the States of Jersey and Guernsey.
