A “Senior Co-ordinator” from each of the eight Member Administrations provides a central,
strategic oversight to the activities underway in the different work sectors and co-ordinates the
Council activity within their own Administration. They also play a key role in preparations for
the Council’s Summits. The Council is supported by the new Secretariat based in Edinburgh.
More details on the role and functions of the Secretariat are provided later in this report.
All Member Administrations participate in the eleven work sectors. Officials from all eight
Member Administrations’ relevant departments meet on a regular basis to progress the work
of the sectors.
