The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP, hosted the twenty-fifth Summit meeting of the British-Irish Council in London today. The meeting took place at Lancaster House and was attended by Heads of Administration and Ministers from the eight BIC Member Administrations: the Irish Government; the devolved administrations of the Scottish and Welsh Governments and Northern Ireland Executive; and the Governments of the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey.

The 4th British-Irish Council Housing Ministerial meeting was hosted by Margaret Burgess, MSP on behalf of the Scottish Government in Edinburgh today.  The meeting was chaired by Mervyn Storey MLA, Minister for Social Development in the Northern Ireland Executive.   

The meeting focused on a report on Innovative Policy Interventions to Fund Housing Initiatives which sets out the range of policies being adopted across all Member Administrations to fund housing provision.

The 1st British-Irish Council Creative Industries Ministerial meeting was held at the Jersey Museum today hosted by Assistant Economic Development Minister, Deputy Murray Norton, who leads on the Culture portfolio, for Economic Development. 

The meeting focused on the creative industries and discussed how the skills capacity of the creative industries can be developed and considered examples of creative collaboration and the impact of the creative industries on the wider economy.
