The British-Irish Council (BIC) held an Early Years Policy Ministerial meeting today, hosted in Tŷ Hywel, Cardiff by the Welsh Government.  Ministers approved the Forward Work Plan of the sector.

The meeting was chaired by Julie Morgan AM, Deputy Minister for Health & Social Services in the Welsh Government.  Deputy Minister Morgan welcomed Ministers and Officials from across the eight Member Administrations of BIC to Cardiff, emphasising the critical importance of successful early years policy to providing children with the best start in life.

The British-Irish Council (BIC) held its 32nd Summit meeting today hosted by the UK Government. The heads of delegation were welcomed to Manchester by Rt Hon David Lidington MP, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and Minister for the Cabinet Office, on behalf of the UK Government. The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Rt Hon. David Lidington MP, will host the 32nd British-Irish Council Summit meeting next week. It will be the fifth time the BIC Summit has been hosted by the Government of the United Kingdom. The meeting will be attended by leaders and Ministers from the Council’s Member Administrations.  

One of the main discussion topics at the summit will focus on the transition to smart energy systems, across the eight BIC jurisdictions: supporting the decarbonisation of energy and an important step in combatting climate change.
