The British-Irish Council Transport work sector held a Ministerial meeting today, hosted by the Northern Ireland Executive in Belfast. Ministers were welcomed by Nichola Mallon MLA, Minister for Infrastructure, as chair of the British-Irish Council Transport work sector.

The British-Irish Council Transport work sector will hold a Ministerial meeting this week, which will be hosted by the Northern Ireland Executive. The meeting will be chaired by Nichola Mallon MLA, Minister for Infrastructure, the Northern Ireland Executive.

Officials from the Transport work sector have shared their learning and experiences on an ongoing basis throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Having successfully completed projects based around active travel, the work sector is looking forward to progressing the work of the Council in further areas of mutual interest.

The British-Irish Council Environment work sector tasked the Invasive Non-Native Species subgroup with producing an Action Plan to address the issues associated with the invasive non-native tunicate Didemnum Vexillum.  This Didemnum Vexillum Action Plan was finalised and received Ministerial approval at the BIC Environment work sector Ministerial meeting held virtually in November 2020.  The objectives within the Action Plan aim to mitigate against the potential environmental and economic harms posed by this problem species, and are being taken forward by the BIC Member Ad
