On 7/8 November 2013 the Scottish Government hosted a seminar at the MacDonald Holyrood Hotel, Edinburgh on behalf of the British-Irish Council’s Indigenous, Minority and Lesser-used (IML) Languages Work Sector.
The event was attended by over 60 delegates, from across the BIC Member Administrations representing national governments, local councils, the Welsh and Irish language commissioners, representatives of language agencies and experts from academia and the NGO sector.
British-Irish Council Housing Ministers met in London today. The meeting was chaired by Nelson McCausland, MLA, Northern Ireland’s Minister for Social Development and hosted by the new UK Housing Minister Kris Hopkins MP.
BIC MARINE ENERGY OFFICIALS VISIT EMEC, ORKNEY
During October ‘13 BIC Marine Energy work sector officials held their meeting in Orkney and whilst there went along to see for themselves the excellent work being carried out at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) based at Stromness. This included the new and exciting technologies currently being tested. More details of EMEC’s history and function is available at http://www.emec.org.uk/.
