BIC Indigenous, Minority and Lesser-Used Languages Ministerial meeting to be hosted by the Government of Jersey

This week, the British-Irish Council's Indigenous, Minority and Lesser-Used Languages work sector will hold a Ministerial meeting hosted by the Government of Jersey. The meeting will be chaired by Jeremy Miles MS, Minister for Education and Welsh Language, Welsh Government. 

In recent years, officials from the Indigenous, Minority and Lesser-Used Languages (IML) work sector have shared their learning, perspectives and experiences in developing and supporting IML languages across the BIC Member Administrations.

At the meeting. Ministers will consider a plan for the future focus of the work sector, which includes culture, linguistic Infrastructure; and continuing to support the social use of IML languages.  They will also consider linkages with other work sectors such as Creative Industries.
